Almost total commitment of merchants to the first-day attendance system in the states of Setif, Batna and Annaba – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Sunday, merchants and economic operators committed almost completely to continue the first day of Eid Al-Adha at the level of the regions of Setif, Batna and Annaba, according to what was learned from the Regional Directorates of Trade and Export Promotion for the same regions.

A total response was recorded across 6 states affiliated with the Regional Directorate for Trade and Export Promotion in the Setif region. I also benefited from the person in charge of supervising the maintenance, Abdelkader Djilali, who stated to Ouaj that “the overall response rate in the Setif region, which includes the states of Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, M’sila, Jijel and… Mila and Bejaia have reached 100 percent, with an abundance of various goods and materials of widespread consumption and necessary services recorded during this religious occasion.”

The rate of response of merchants to the operation across the concerned states represents 8,870 merchants active in various fields who were harnessed to the operation, according to the same official, who explained that “the operation falls within the framework of implementing the Ministry’s directives aimed at ensuring that the needs of citizens are met and a normal and regular provision of various goods during Eid al-Adha.”

To ensure the success of the operation throughout the days of Eid al-Adha, 430 inspection agents affiliated with the same states were employed to monitor and follow up on the extent to which merchants carried out this maintenance, including 100 inspection agents at the level of the state of Setif, which employed 2,100 merchants to ensure continuity throughout these days, as was mentioned.

While the response rate of merchants and economic operators dedicated to ensuring continuity on the first day of Eid al-Adha of this year approached 100 percent across the seven eastern states of the country affiliated with the Regional Directorate for Trade and Export Promotion in the Batna district, as confirmed by Mohamed Sardoun, the official in charge of the same directorate whose social headquarters is in the city of Batna, and Who reported that an abundance and diversity of supplies were recorded across the states of Batna, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Tebessa, Constantine, Biskra and Ouled Jalal, especially consumer goods.

The total number of merchants and economic dealers involved in the maintenance program during this religious occasion across the seven states of the same directorate, according to the spokesman, reached 6,442 merchants active in various fields, including 620 merchants in the state of Batna, highlighting that 335 supervisory agents of various ranks were recruited to monitor the extent of the compulsory merchants’ commitment. For the established program to ensure that the residents of these seven states are supplied with basic and widely consumed materials.

The percentage of commitment to commercial continuity in the Annaba region during the first day of Eid al-Adha exceeded 99 percent, according to what Mr. Abdel Latif Aichaoui, Regional Director of Trade and Export Promotion for the Annaba region, which includes the states of Guelma, El Tarf, Souk Ahras, Skikda and Annaba, explained.

The same official stated to Waj that the same regional directorate recorded the commitment of a total of 4,216 merchants in these states who were harnessed to ensure commercial continuity during the days of Eid, including 1,225 in the state of Annaba, in addition to 9 dairy factories and two “2” production units.

Mineral water and 34 mills distributed across the five states of the same region.

240 agents, constituting 20 monitoring teams, were deployed across these states, monitoring the extent of the commitment of merchants, especially the owners of bakeries and stores selling widely consumed foodstuffs, to ensure regular operation during the days of Eid Al-Adha, according to the same source, who added that the commitment to regular operation during the first days of Eid Al-Adha also included. Wholesale markets for vegetables and fruits, fuel distribution stations, and transportation services.
