Algerians perform the rain prayer in all the country’s mosques

On Saturday, Algerians performed the rain prayer, across all the nation’s mosques, after the delayed rain fall. The worshipers, in humility and tranquility, called on God Almighty to send down beneficial, harmless rain over the entire country, reviving the people and the country.

The rain prayer is considered a confirmed Sunnah in Islamic jurisprudence, in accordance with the Sunnah of the Chosen One, may God bless him and grant him peace, from whom it is proven that this prayer is performed in the event of drought.

This prayer was performed by performing two rak’ahs, followed by the sermons of the imams, who stressed the necessity of thanking God Almighty for all His blessings and good worship, calling for obedience to Him, seeking forgiveness, and relieving the country from the scarcity of rainfall. They also stressed the necessity of turning to God by frequently mentioning Him so that He may remove from the nation. Drought, epidemics and diseases.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments had called, last Wednesday, in a statement, for rain prayer to be held on Saturday in all the nation’s mosques, in view of the delay in rain in most parts of the country, and in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.

In the same context, the Ministry also urged citizens to “practice the etiquette of praying for rain, such as repentance, seeking forgiveness, redressing grievances, maintaining family ties, and giving alms to the poor and needy, hoping from God Almighty to provide bitter, horrific, beneficial, harmless rain sooner rather than later.”

The Algerians had performed the rain prayer, about a month ago, through the nation’s mosques, in implementation of the call of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, in order to pray to God Almighty to provide relief to the people and the country, after the rain was delayed and withheld for a long time.
