In this context, the guardian authorities, along with the relevant ministerial departments and sectors, especially trade, began providing necessities and basic foodstuffs during the holy month of Ramadan, preparing a plan in accordance with important procedures to ensure the financing of markets and commercial centers with all basic materials, and held meetings and summoned officials and frameworks in an effort to provide All the necessities during this holy month.
During this weekend, the markets are witnessing a large demand from Algerians, especially regarding foodstuffs that are in high demand during the holy month of Ramadan, such as oil, semolina, flour, milk, and all the requirements for preparing main dishes during Ramadan, among others.
Algerians flocked to the markets, not only for vegetables and fruits, but also to buy new utensils designated for the holy month, or even spices of all kinds, as well as red and white meat, which is in great demand on the eve of this month.
Before the advent of the Holy Ramadan, the Consumer Protection Organization published what it called “the challenges of consumption in Ramadan,” noting that as the month of Ramadan approaches, we stop at our consumption habits and seek more awareness and contemplation, as this blessed month is considered an opportunity to develop our relationship with consumption and focus on spiritual values. .
The organization pointed to “excessive shopping,” which may cause excessive focus on shopping this month to overspend and buy unnecessary things, calling for avoiding feeling pressured to follow social traditions, calling for not wasting resources and extravagance during the holy month of Ramadan.
