Algerian Qatari Steel exports 320,000 tons of iron products – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

The Algerian-Qatari Steel Company in Bellara, Jijel Province, was able to export 320,000 tons of iron products during the first quarter of this year, compared to 100,000 tons of exports during the same period last year 2022, according to what was learned today, Wednesday, by the deputy general manager of the company.

Soufiane Chaib Setti said, in a press statement, that the Algerian-Qatari steel company recorded, during the first three months of the current year 2023, the export of a significant amount of iron and its derivatives, estimated at 320,000 tons, or the financial equivalent of $200 million.

And compared to what was exported in the year 2022, a difference was recorded in terms of quantity estimated at 240 thousand tons, and in terms of financial return estimated at 160 million US dollars, according to the same official who highlighted that despite the company’s modernity, whether in the field of production or export, it was able thanks to Its tires help to impose the Algerian product on the world markets, pointing out that these export operations are part of the general policy of the country’s supreme authorities aimed at diversifying exports and getting out of dependence on hydrocarbons.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian-Qatari Steel Company in Bellara, in the municipality of Milia, Jijel Province, obtained last February a certificate of conformity for reinforcing steel products and coils of iron wire from the British Authority for the Certification of Steel Products Worldwide, which allows the company to enter new global markets, according to Chaib Seti.
