Algerian-Qatari discussions to enhance cooperation in the agricultural sector – Algerian Dialogue

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdel Hafeez Hani, received the President and General Manager of the Qatari company “Baladna”, Mohamed Moataz Al-Khayyat, and the delegation of experts accompanying him, where they discussed ways to enhance partnership and cooperation in the agricultural field.
A statement by the Ministry, today, Thursday, explained that this meeting, which took place yesterday, Wednesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of Qatar’s Ambassador to Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali Ahmed Neama Al-Neama, came as a continuation of the implementation of procedures related to the Algeria project for the production of milk and red meat.

In this meeting – the statement adds – the two parties discussed the issue of investment and the opportunities available in Algeria to implement partnership projects between the two countries.

Hani reviewed the most important development programs included in the sector’s road map and the utmost importance of integrating this project into Algeria’s economic policy.

For his part, Mohamed Moataz Al-Khayyat expressed his company’s readiness “to invest in agriculture in Algeria, by exploiting all available opportunities to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.”
