Algeria-Qatar… Distinctive historical relations and a promising strategic partnership – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

Algeria and Qatar have distinguished historical relations that have been significantly strengthened in recent years thanks to the sincere political will of the leaders of the two countries and their serious desire to establish a promising strategic partnership that has become a model to be followed within the framework of Arab integration relations.
Political consultation and coordination between the two countries is based on mutual respect and trust, which represents one of the constants of the foreign policy of both countries and the most important point on which the President of the Republic, Mr.
In this context, President Tebboune’s working visit to Qatar, after his state visit in February 2022 to this brotherly country, is further evidence of the great rapprochement between the two countries and the effectiveness of bilateral coordination mechanisms between them, as it comes a few days after the phone call. between the leaders of the two countries on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, during which they agreed on a meeting that would bring them together, as a culmination of the level of brotherly relations.
The President of the Republic is accompanied on this visit by an important ministerial delegation, which reflects the importance of the relations of cooperation and partnership between the two countries and their desire to always push them forward.
In this regard, President Tebboune met today, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Official talks gathered between them at the Amiri Diwan Palace, which focused on ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields, especially economy, trade, industry, energy and technology. They also touched on regional and international developments.
The two countries have made great strides in raising the level of cooperation in various fields, translated by the signing of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, including an agreement related to the establishment of political consultations and coordination between the foreign ministries of the two countries and an agreement related to legal and judicial cooperation, in addition to other agreements and memorandums in the sectors of tourism and industry. Health and higher education, in addition to the launch of an air line between Algeria and Doha in the summer of 2022, the construction of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital, and the expansion of the Algerian-Qatari iron and steel company complex in Bellara, Jijel Province.
The two sides recorded their satisfaction with the bilateral consultation and coordination, and their aspiration to strengthen them at all levels, in addition to affirming the existence of complete agreement regarding various files, especially issues related to the Arab world and international and regional affairs, and coordinating their positions in a way that enhances security and stability in the world.
In this context, the positions of Algeria and Qatar coincide on the need to formulate peaceful solutions to crises and encourage work to establish balanced international relations that are governed by the Charter of the United Nations and its established principles.
The two countries also stress the importance of upholding the values ​​of unity and solidarity among Arab countries in order to overcome the various current crises, and in the same regard they agree to support and strengthen frameworks and mechanisms for joint Arab action.
