Ben Jama, on behalf of the 3A+ group, said in a joint statement on the situation in Sudan, “The 3A+ group expresses its appreciation for the United Kingdom’s continued efforts despite the limited time during the negotiation process,” adding, “This decision will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the safety of the people of Sudan.”

He continued, saying: “The Security Council’s adoption of this resolution calls for a halt shooting In Sudan during the month of Ramadan, it is an important step that paves the way for peace and stability in Sudan,” highlighting in the same context that “this decisive step reflects the collective commitment to promoting peace and stability in the country during this holy month.”

Bin Jama said: “We hope that Sudanese actors will seize this opportunity to lay down arms, create an atmosphere conducive to dialogue, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and stop hostilities in order to move forward collectively towards a peaceful future.”

On the other hand, Ben Jama adds, “The +3A Group praised the commendable decision taken by the Sudanese authorities to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid through various border crossings, as the Sudanese government thus provides a lifeline to reach the affected areas where relief is urgent.”

The Algerian diplomat pointed out that “at this stage, giving priority to coordinating regional and international efforts and unifying various initiatives becomes crucial.”

In this regard, Ben Jama explained that the goal “lies to bring together the various actors at the internal level for a comprehensive dialogue to find Sudanese solutions to Sudanese problems, without any external interference, which would pave the way for sustainable peace.”

He continued, saying, “We would like to reaffirm our firm support for the Secretary-General of the United Nations and his Personal Envoy, the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, for their efforts in mediation, promoting dialogue and reconciliation, and providing sustainable solutions for the safety of the Sudanese people,” the spokesman added.

Bin Jama concluded by saying: “The 3A+ group renews its commitment to working constructively and continuously with members of the Security Council for a peaceful and prosperous future in Sudan.”

In this regard, the Algerian ambassador stressed, “In the face of this deteriorating situation, we want to seize the opportunity of this meeting to issue an urgent appeal to all Sudanese actors to declare an immediate ceasefire in order to reduce the severity of the suffering of innocent Sudanese men, women and children, and we call with the UN Secretary-General “The Sudanese parties must put aside their differences and seize the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan, the month of peace, in order to adopt the path of calm and restraint in order to reach lasting peace in Sudan.”
