Algeria is preparing to host the African Tennis Championship, with the participation of 19 countries – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaery

The forty-fifth edition of the African Tennis Championship, organized under the slogan of the International Federation and the Confederation of the game, will be held for the age group under 16 years (male and female) during the period from April 25 to 29 in the tennis field in Bachjarrah (Algeria), according to what was stated by the “Algerian News Agency.” .”

64 players, including 32 players representing 19 countries, will participate in this date. The matter concerns: Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Cameroon, Kenya, Burundi, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Togo, Mozambique, Benin, Angola, Rwanda, Islands Maurice and Madagascar Algeria participates with 12 players, including 6 players.

The organization of this continental date was entrusted to the Algerian Tennis Federation in coordination with the African Tennis Confederation and the International Federation of the game.

In the context, Nabil Shriyak, President of the Algerian Federation, said: “The technical level will be very high, in the presence of the best players in the continent. I admit that our chances are with girls, despite the difficulty of competition. Our best player, Maria Badach, will be at the head of Group F, and our chances will depend on the drawing process. I hope that Badach will reach the golden square, and why not win the title here in Algeria. The same applies to Wessal Boujemaoui, who has the same characteristics to reach the quarter-finals, and perhaps more.

And according to the son of the city of Annaba, the task of the males will be “complicated and difficult”, because the African giants aim to obtain a medal of the precious metal in Algerian territory.

On the sidelines of this continental date, the Confederation of African Tennis will hold the first meeting of the region, on Friday, April 28, at the Tennis Club in Bashjarrah, starting at ten o’clock in the morning, in the presence of the six federations of the North African region, in the presence of the general director of the Tunisian continental authority, Hicham Riani, and a representative of the International Federation of the game.
