Algeria Discovery Rally – 2024.. Participation of 35 foreign drivers and a significant number of Algerians – Algerian Dialogue

35 foreign motorcycle drivers, representing nine countries and a significant number of Algerian riders, are expected to participate in the third edition of the “Algeria Discovery Rally,” scheduled this year in eastern Algeria from May 6 to 11, 2024, with the aim of raising awareness and preventing traffic accidents, not to mention promoting tourism.
The “Algeria Discovery Rally” is organized under the auspices of the Ministries of Youth, Sports, Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning, and in partnership with the Algerian Federation of Motor Sports and the National Road Security Commission. It is an event of a preventive nature against traffic accidents and tourism, in which participants will cover a distance of 1,100 km and tour four states, including Boumerdes. , Bejaia, Jijel and Setif before landing in Algiers.”
The president of the club supervising the “Algeria Discovery Rally,” in technical cooperation with the Algerian Federation of Motor Sports, Abdel Ghafour Khati, explained in a press conference in Algiers that 35 foreign motorcycle drivers representing 9 countries have officially confirmed their participation in this demonstration, namely: India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Libya, Tunisia, Portugal and France.
The same official added that the event “is developing from one edition to another, and we seek to develop it further and deliver an awareness and awareness-raising message related to traffic safety to all audiences across the many states that we will visit. We will also work to focus more on highlighting the tourist places that the participants will visit and the cultural diversity that our country abounds with.” .
This edition also offers mechanical sports enthusiasts a unique opportunity to discover horizons different from the previous edition, which makes them discover areas of the country that they have not visited before. It will be followed by an exhibition that will be held in Al-Sablat Park, “Motorcycle Week Exhibition,” which – according to the organizers – constitutes “The largest gathering of this category of vehicles in North Africa.”
In parallel with the rally, a gathering of more than 1,500 Algerian cyclists will be held, all of whom will head in a parade convoy from the African village in Sidi Faraj to the exhibition held on this occasion in Sabalat, which will be a point of contact between motorcycle users and economic operators in this field.
The exhibition activities will be held on May 9, 10 and 11 in the parking lot in Al Kharouba, in addition to several races for young children, female drivers and motorcycle races for adults.
The last edition – 2023 – attracted 34,000 visitors, 40 percent of whom were families, and the participation of 1,200 cyclists in the convoy from Sidi Faraj to Al-Sablat Park, with the participation of 4 foreign countries.
