Algeria condemned the attempt to harm Islamic sanctities following the serious incident of tearing up a copy of the Holy Quran in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: Algeria expresses its strong condemnation of the attempt to harm Islamic sanctities, following the serious incident of tearing up a copy of the Noble Qur’an in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Reiterating its denunciation of the repetition of these provocative acts with dire repercussions on social peace, Algeria calls on the governments of the concerned countries to take legal and practical measures to prevent and deter infringement of religious sanctities, combat hate speech and extremism, and work to uphold the values of tolerance and coexistence.
