The Republic’s mediator, Majeed Amour, confirmed that Algeria will adopt a new approach capable of enshrining professional ethics in public institutions according to effective mechanisms aimed at restricting the employee to his duties when performing tasks, establishing a culture of serving the citizen, as well as improving the performance of these facilities.

During the work of the fourth regional meeting in the central region, on Saturday, Amour explained that the effectiveness sought by the Republic’s mediator body is mainly to achieve the lofty goals that place the citizen at the attention of all officials, through closely identifying his basic concerns and responding to them quickly and efficiently and facilitating administrative procedures. All of which are indicators of collective contribution to consolidating the spirit of true citizenship.

The Republic’s mediator stressed that what has actually been embodied is the fruit of President Tebboune’s sincere intention to fulfill his obligations and his strict follow-up to their implementation according to a precise and detailed roadmap in order to take care of all citizens’ concerns and raise them to the level of their aspirations, which calls on everyone to work together to improve indicators of the quality of public services.

The same spokesman stressed that what is now required is to adopt a new approach capable of enshrining professional ethics in public administrations and institutions according to effective mechanisms aimed at restricting the employee to his duties when performing the tasks assigned to him and establishing a culture of citizen service, as well as improving the performance of these facilities.

Ammor also highlighted the need to consolidate these gains, which can only be achieved by adopting an approach to consolidating cooperation and coordination mechanisms.

The meeting included the holding of two workshops entitled “The status of processing citizens’ petitions, the problem and ways to deal with them” and “Mechanisms for ensuring the quality of public service and enhancing transparency.”

The meeting was attended by Salima Masrati, Head of the Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating of Corruption, Belaid Taite, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Development, and Ammar Ali Ben Saed, Governor of Djelfa State.
