African Youth Games 2025.. in Wanda, signing the protocol for organizing the fourth edition. – Algerian dialogue
The Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (AKNOA), with the Angolan government and the local Olympic and Sports Committee, signed the protocol for organizing the Fourth African Youth Games scheduled to be held in Angola in December 2025, as announced by the African Olympic Committee on its official website.
These African Youth Games are one of the continent’s flagship events and will bring together young sporting talent around the values of excellence, inclusion and solidarity.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcao, the President of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa, Algerian Mustapha Braff, and the President of the Angolan Olympic and Sports Committee, Gustavo Dias Vaz da Conceição.
On this occasion, Mr. Braff highlighted the importance of this date, which constitutes the showcase of sporting energy for African youth, as he stated: “The African Youth Games represent the largest sporting event for our youth, and also the only platform that inspires, creates and improves Olympic values at the level of the entire continent.”
For his part, the Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcao, confirmed that the financial capabilities necessary to organize the fourth edition of the African Youth Games – 2025 are available thanks to the state’s general budget, within the framework of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of Angola’s independence.
The Minister explained: “Angola has been working for some time to ensure the success of this event, whether on the organizational or sports level, relying on the available facilities.”
According to a statement by the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa, the fourth youth session – 2025, will witness the participation of thousands of young people from 54 African countries, as they will compete in twenty sports disciplines in water, team and individual sports, to demonstrate a comprehensive view of the physical capabilities of the continent’s youth.
In this context, Braff says: “These games represent a rare opportunity to uncover emerging sporting talents and prepare our young people to shine on the continental and global levels.”
During the working visit carried out by the delegation of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa, the Medal of Sports Merit was awarded to the President of the Republic of Angola, João Louronço, “in recognition of his commitment to developing and developing sports in his country.”
