Activating the joint cooperation committee between Algeria and Bahrain to discuss partnership opportunities – Algerian Dialogue

The meeting between the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Al-Tayeb Zitouni, and the Bahraini Minister of Trade and Industry, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, this Sunday in Manama, concluded with the activation of the joint cooperation committee between the two countries to discuss partnership opportunities, according to a statement from the ministry.

This meeting comes on the sidelines of Mr. Zitouni’s participation in the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level preparatory to the work of the 33rd regular Arab summit hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on May 16.

On the occasion, the Minister reviewed the promising investment opportunities in Algeria and the privileges offered by the new investment law, highlighting Algeria’s encouragement of Arab-Arab investments and the promotion of intra-Arab trade.

For his part, Mr. Fakhro expressed the interest of Bahraini companies in investing in many sectors, especially in the field of food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and transportation industries, in addition to supporting entrepreneurship and emerging institutions.

In a press statement made by Mr. Zitouni after the meeting, he confirmed that the meeting was fruitful and reflected the fraternal relations between Algeria and Bahrain.

He continued by saying: “We saw from our Bahraini brothers a solid will, like ours, to develop the bilateral relationship and raise the volume of trade exchanges and investment,” noting that several projects were discussed that could be the subject of partnership.

The minister added that a joint business council will be established and visits by businessmen between the two countries will be organized with the aim of embodying this will.
