A new Algerian patent for total organic carbon estimation

Sonatrach announced that the Algerian Petroleum Institute affiliated to the complex had obtained a patent from the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI).

This patent relates to the estimation of total organic carbon in gas reservoirs using simultaneous seismic reflection and genetic systems.

The process pioneered by Prof. Dr. Wad Fel Sayed Ali from the Algerian Institute of Petroleum will allow the implementation of a new method for estimating total organic carbon (TOC). This invention will allow the control and measurement of oil potential in gas reservoirs.
