A large influx of tourists to the tourist areas in the Algerian state of Djanet – Al-Hawar

These days, various tourist attractions in the state of Djanet are witnessing a large influx of national and foreign tourists, in the desert tourism season 2024/25, which reflects the attractiveness of the region as a distinct tourist destination, according to what the interests of the Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts reported Thursday.
These tourists enjoy the picturesque natural scenery that the capital of Tassili is famous for, such as the rock paintings and golden sand dunes, as well as the charming desert atmosphere that attracts lovers of adventures and photography, especially through the regions of Isindilan, Ahrir, Erg Adamer, Tekobaouine, and Tadrart Alhambra.
The Sivar region also attracts adventure lovers thanks to its towering mountains and rugged terrain, which provides the opportunity for hiking and mountain climbing enthusiasts to enjoy the tranquil natural atmosphere.
A number of foreign tourists expressed in impressions collected by “Waj” their “admiration” for the picturesque natural landscapes that this region of southern Algeria is famous for, which prompts them – according to them – to return to the state of Djanet every time to discover new tourist sites, as they put it.
So far, during the current desert tourism season, the state has received more than 8,000 foreign tourists and 17,000 national tourists, a number that is expected to increase, according to the sector director, Al-Amin Hammadi.
This large influx of tourists contributes to supporting local economic activity, especially by encouraging traditional crafts and tourism services provided by tourism and travel agencies and hotel establishments in the state, as the same official stated.
The measures taken by the state also contributed to achieving a “quantum leap” in the tourism sector in the state of Djanet, including the opening of a direct air line between Paris (France) and Djanet (Algeria), in addition to the launch of a unified window to facilitate various procedures that allow tourists to reach attractions. Tourism, in addition to preparing a tourist guide to organize the work of tourism and travel agencies.
The state counts four tourist camps distributed among major tourist areas, namely Tivertsen, Timgas, Tekobawin and Jurf Amoud, with a capacity exceeding 200 beds, as these camps contribute to meeting the requirements of tourists.
By the way, Abdel Malek Khairani, owner of a tourist camp (90 beds) located in the Jorf Amoud tourist area, praised the measures taken by the state to support desert tourism, considering that “it is an important step that contributed to creating the appropriate conditions for the development of this type of tourism, by promoting the natural and cultural components that… The region abounds with it.”
