Lieutenant General Al-Said Shangriha offers condolences to the families of the martyrs of the fires – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryya

Lieutenant General Saïd CHANEGRIHA, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, on his behalf and on behalf of all employees of People’s National Army, offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and their families and to the military establishment.
10 soldiers belonging to the People’s National Army detachment stationed in the Beni Kesila region were killed, and 25 others were injured, of varying severity, during the operation to put out the fires that broke out in the province of Bejaia, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
The condolence of Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha stated that “following this great affliction, Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, presents, in his name and on behalf of all the personnel of People’s National Army, his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and their families and to the military institution, hoping that God Almighty may their pure souls rest in His vast mercy and dwell them in His spacious gardens with the righteous martyrs and friends, and to inspire their families with beautiful patience and solace in this great affliction. I wish a speedy recovery to the rest of the injured.”
The statement indicated that following the fires that broke out in the wilaya of Bejaia in the 5th Military Region, on July 23, 2023, especially at the level of the municipalities of Ksar and Beni Ksila, which important material and human means were used to extinguish them, since the first hours of their outbreak, represented by two planes specialized in extinguishing the fires, and the intervention of civil protection agents and detachments of the People’s National Army, and in view of the increase in the strength of the winds that caused a random change in the direction of the fire towards the location of a detachment of the People’s National Army in the Oued region. Das Bani Kusaila, its military personnel began evacuating, along with the residents of Mashati, the area, this morning, July 24, 2023, at four o’clock.
The same statement added, “During the evacuation process and due to the rapid spread of fire and fumes, the military personnel were trapped with the residents of the adjacent Mashati, which unfortunately caused the death of ten (10) soldiers belonging to the People’s National Army detachment stationed in the Beni Kesila area, in addition to the injury of twenty-five (25) soldiers with injuries of varying severity, where they were evacuated directly to the nearby hospital institutions.”
