The Minister of Fisheries and Fishing Products, Ahmed Badani, gave today, Monday, from the sea fishing port of Koraya-Tipaza – the official launch of the national campaign to fish for red tuna on the high seas.
The campaign is attended by 32 ships carrying the national flag that went out in the annual quota fishing campaign for Algeria set by the International Committee for the Conservation of Red Tuna in the Atlantic Ocean “ICCAT”, which increased this year from 1650 tons to 2023 tons.
The Minister of Fisheries examined a number of sectoral projects and investments that would contribute to raising production capacities in the state of Tipaza, in addition to examining training capabilities in the fields of marine fishing and aquaculture. And the fishing port of Gouraya counts the exit of 13 ships specialized in fishing activity on the high seas, of which 3 are locally manufactured, provided that the rest of the marine fishing vessels concerned with the tuna fishing campaign leave the ports of Oran, Annaba, Tlemcen, Mostaganem and Ain Temouchent, according to the calendar. determined by the Ministry’s interests.
The Minister at the Koraya fishing port also listened to a presentation about a farm for breeding mussels “MOULLES” along the coast of Koraya with a production capacity of 100 tons per year, and another about the “Royal Qajuj” fish farm project, and a presentation on a mini-establishment that was established within the framework of Enterprise Support Fund “ANADE”, specialized in the manufacture of equipment and hydraulic attachments for fishing vessels, in addition to a special offer for port preparation works to improve the social and professional conditions of professionals, according to a statement by the Ministry of Maritime Fishing.
