Opening branches of Swiss universities in Algeria soon – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Badari, received today, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation, Pierre Yves Fuchs, in Algeria.

The talks between the two parties focused on intensifying cooperation and exchange between Algerian universities and their Swiss counterparts, in priority areas within the national strategy.

In the same context, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, affirmed his readiness to intensify and develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries, through twinning between Algerian university institutions and major Swiss universities, as is the case in Europe, to raise the level of mobility of our teachers and students, especially as we aim to train students. Distinguished and open to other cultures, especially since the new philosophy of the sector aims at excellence and the improvement of higher education and scientific research.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Pierre Yves Fuchs to Algeria, called for the opening of branches of major Swiss universities for scientific and technological training in Algeria.

For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Algeria, Pierre Yves Fuchs, congratulated the Minister on the occasion of the holiday, and emphasized the quality of relations between Algeria and Switzerland, and expressed his admiration for the role that Algeria played and is playing in cultural radiation and culture, by virtue of Algeria’s openness to cultures, and expressed his willingness to expand Cooperation between Swiss university institutions and their Algerian counterparts, through the signing of twinning agreements in several fields, especially archeology, since Algeria is rich in archaeological sites classified globally, as well as interest in astronomy, since the climate of Algeria encourages various research and studies in this field.
