Crisis dealers turn to expired materials – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazaeryia
In a strange and new phenomenon for Algerian society and among Algerian merchants, the phenomenon of selling expired and widely consumed materials has become widespread, as well as the promotion of meat that is not fit for human consumption, striking the alphabet and rules of selling against the wall, and defying the laws of the state with premeditation and observance.

In a related context, the state control interests throughout the country thwarted many expired reservations throughout the month of Ramadan, and tons of widely consumed materials were destined for the Algerian markets and citizens’ tables by gangs whose purpose was quick profit on the health of the citizen.
Zabadi: The phenomenon of selling expired items is widespread
For his part, the head of the Consumer Protection Organization, Mustafa, expressed to the dialogue his dissatisfaction with these behaviors and called for the strictest penalties because they fall within the framework of criminality, saying that these are “unjustified behaviors on the part of merchants who are interested in changing the labeling of goods, and selling expired materials is a widespread phenomenon.” In abundance, but it must be dealt with firmly, especially if it was deliberate by the merchants by imposing the maximum penalties.”
Zabadi explained that the fear of loss pushes merchants to practice these heinous acts, despite the continuous warnings by the interests and authorities and the appeals launched by the Consumer Protection Association.
Zabadi urged that the punishment be severe in everything related to the health of the consumer, and that it should not be tampered with, or allow an unscrupulous group to control the quality of its product.
Issam Bedrisi: The law punishes fraudulent dealers
In a related context, the Director of the Bureau of the Union of Traders, Issam Bedrisi, confirmed that these acts are punishable by law with imprisonment from 5 to 10 years and a fine of 100 million centimeters.
And Bedrisi made it clear, in a statement specific to the dialogue, that the ethics of commercial work is a duty, and it is considered one of the priorities that the Ministry of Commerce bets on, by eliminating behaviors that harm the consumer.
Bedrisi said that his interests have drawn up work programs and awareness campaigns for merchants, sensitizing them to the danger of these behaviors to the health of citizens, especially in the summer, in order to combat food poisoning.
