“Today, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, Prime Minister Nadhir Al-Arbawi chaired a government meeting, devoted to continuing the study of a preliminary draft law regulating mining activities in light of the directives of the President of the Republic given during the Council of Ministers meeting held on November 26, 2023, and the results of consultations with various actors, specialists and experts in This field, with the aim of enriching this project in a way that enhances the attractiveness of the mining sector to investors, and ensures the provision of appropriate conditions for optimal exploitation of resources. Mining and its valorization in the context of the country’s current industrial dynamism.
The government heard a presentation about project Bouzina Dam in Batna Province, which was completed with a storage capacity of 18 million cubic metres.
On the other hand, the government studied ways to strengthen the regulatory framework related to the management of land border posts, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic aimed at establishing modern and effective border facilities capable of facilitating the movement of travelers and improving the quality of services provided.
The government listened to a presentation on the progress of the process of installing carbon monoxide detectors, which was launched in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, which has, so far, allowed the installation of more than 9.7 million detectors across 58 states, with the aim of protecting citizens from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. The process of installing reagents will continue during the coming year, with the involvement of emerging institutions and local manufacturers, in addition to intensifying awareness campaigns to ensure safe use of gas equipment.”
