8 feature films supported by the Doha Film Institute at Qumra 2023 – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia
Eight feature films were supported by the Doha Film Institute. Qumra workshop, hosted by Doha, Qatar, from March 10 to 15, at the Museum of Islamic Art Theatre.
In this context, Fatima Hassan Alremaihi, Chief Executive Officer of the Doha Film Institute, said, “We are pleased to present these wonderful films, which have left a deep impact on cinema lovers around the world. The screenings include a wide range of films, starting with the award-winning “Memoria” by Qumra expert Apichatpong Wirasethakul, to works that represent the rich history of our region and our complex present, providing a rich cultural and artistic content for both participants and independent film audiences.
She added, “Qumra screenings are an important and major part of the annual forum’s message to support promising filmmakers during their film production journey, from writing the script to showing the film on screen.”
