40 percent of students benefit from books for free
The Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, revealed on Monday evening that 40 percent of students benefit from the textbook for free, stressing that this only happens in Algeria.

Regarding the textbook, Belabed pointed out that 40 percent of students benefit from the textbook for free, and this only happens in Algeria, stressing that no increases in the price of textbooks have been approved.
The Minister also spoke about digitization in the education sector, confirming that it has become a reality, highlighting that the state intends to circulate digital signs at the national level, revealing that the Ministry is preparing to provide 1,200 new primary schools with digital signs.
In another context, the same official confirmed that private schools are obligated to teach the applicable national program and this cannot be violated, indicating that the state encourages private education and it is a unified system under the laws of the Republic.
The Minister of Education revealed that the sector received 338 new educational institutions in anticipation of school entry for the year 2023-2202. It also received 8 school playgrounds and 29 health screening and follow-up units at the level of educational institutions. He also announced the hiring of 4,144 professors to teach the English language at the primary level.
